Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies provides students the biblical and missional foundations essential to a fruitful life of intercultural disciple making through one’s vocational ministry calling for the glory of Jesus Christ. Today’s globalized, multicultural world presents unique challenges to students pursuing careers that center on making the Great Commission a reality in their lives as well as the lives of others whom they serve.
From the Very First Verse to the Very Last Tribe
Why Study Global Studies at TMU?
Grow in your personal faith while preparing to serve in your God-given calling into ministry and missions with TMU’s theological and missiological courses. Learn from outstanding theologians and missiologists who will help you expand your faith and your knowledge of God and His mission. This program prepares students to engage those challenges with confidence, equipping them to teach the truth of Scripture from the very first verse, Genesis 1:1, until the Gospel reaches the very last tribe, Matthew 28:18-29. Through a combination of rigorous classroom learning and directed missional ministry experience outside the classroom, students develop practical skills for cross-cultural relations, gospel-centered service, and effective leadership.
Here are a few other reasons to consider studying at TMU:
- Our degree in Global Studies is well-respected because it’s housed at a leading Baptist university—with strong ties to churches and local, state, national and global ministries and mission agencies.
- Our Missions professors are well-experienced in missions and can help students be ready to engage in the missions field at home and abroad.
- We are one of the few universities that offers both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Global Studies, with opportunities for you to gain advanced standing when you enter our graduate program from our undergraduate program.
- When you choose TMU, you’re part of a community that will thrive in small biblical study courses and more personal interactions with faculty members. In fact, we pride ourselves on offering a 17-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. Whether it’s discipleship or mentorship, our faculty are committed to spending time with you throughout your biblical study courses.
- We help to make our missiological and theological courses and programs both affordable and accessible. That’s why all incoming students receive financial aid.
- Upon graduation, you will be well prepared for career employment in your chosen field of service or to pursue graduate level studies.
