Biography

Dr. Francis Kimmit has been married to his wife, Judy, since 1980. They have two children: Lee and Lynn, along with a son-in-law, Josh. They have two grandchildren, Bethany and Caleb. Dr. Kimmit previously served as a missionary with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Since the 1990s, he has worked in higher education as both a professor and administrator, serving at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Tennessee Temple University, Bryan College, and now Truett McConnell University. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Director of Prison Education, overseeing TMU’s extension centers at Phillips State Prison and Whitworth Women’s Facility, where the BA in Christian Studies is offered. He also serves as a co-pastor at an assisted living center as part of his church’s ministry, regularly preaching there.
