Spiritual Development

Each class taken at TMU is grounded in a biblical worldview. Professors sign the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a commitment to keep scripture as the centerpiece in their classroom. As a result, students are taught how to integrate their faith into every aspect of their lives.

At TMU all students graduate with a minor in Great Commission Studies. This is part of the general education requirements and includes four different Bible courses walking students through the Bible, the history of the Church, and how to live out the Great Commission.

Every Tuesday at 9:30, all on-campus students gather in the Harris Athletic Complex for a time of worship and teaching. Students are encouraged by a wide variety of speakers and pastors, both local to TMU or coming from across the country.

Every Monday night, students have the opportunity to join discipleship groups that meet in dorms across campus. Two to three leaders are paired with each small group for a time of Bible study, prayer, and time together! Once a month, the student life leadership team hosts Abide Nights for all the small groups to come together for a time of fellowship, worship, and spiritual growth.

At Truett McConnell University, we equip students to serve boldly through the Great Commission. As followers of Christ, we are called to teach the truth of Scripture  from the very first verse, Genesis 1:1, until the Gospel reaches the very last tribe, Matthew 28:18-29.  Our mission trips give students the opportunity to live out this calling through life-changing experiences that combine hands-on ministry, cross-cultural outreach, and gospel-centered service.
