Follow these simple steps to start your TMU journey!

First-time freshmen and transfer students, please follow the steps below to apply for one of our undergraduate degree programs (international, re-admitted, and non-degree seeking students, please scroll down for separate instructions and requirements):
Step 1: Apply to TMU
Apply to TMU online.
Step 2: Submit Transcripts
If TMU is the first college/university that you will attend after high school, we need the following documents:
- High school transcript OR homeschool program transcript with Declaration of Intent OR GED
- Dual Enrolled Transcripts (if applicable)
If you have attended another college/university as a degree seeking student (not as a dual enrolled student), we need the following documents:
- Transfer students who have earned LESS than 30 hours at a previous college/university:
- High school transcript OR homeschool program transcript with Declaration of Intent OR GED
- Transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended
- Transfer students who have earned 30 OR MORE hours at a previous college/university:
- Transcripts from all college/universities previously attended
Admission Requirements
- High school or college GPA: 2.5 or higher
OR
- High school or college GPA: 2.0 – 2.49 AND
- 970+ SAT Score OR 18+ ACT Score
Students who do not meet the Admissions Requirements listed are able to submit an appeal through the Admissions Office.
The TMU Academic Standards committee is currently re-evaluating admission requirements for the 2025-2026 incoming class and forward. Once the new requirements are approved, they will be posted here.

For admission to the master’s program applicants must:
- Have obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale in completion of the bachelor’s degree. (Specific degree programs may have a higher GPA requirement – please consult each school’s degree requirements.)
- Complete a Graduate Application for Admission.
- Submit an official transcript from the institution that granted the bachelor’s degree. (In some cases, official transcripts of all undergraduate coursework may be required.) Note: If the degree program is incomplete when the application is filed, a transcript of work to that date must be submitted, and after graduation, a final official transcript must be furnished indicating the degree received.
- Submit official transcript(s) of any previously completed graduate coursework.
- Meet any additional requirements as specified by each graduate school. Additional requirements can be found on each programs specific page

For admission to the doctoral program applicants must:
- Have obtained a graduate degree in a related field maintaining a 3.5 GPA. (Students may be admitted on a probationary basis with a graduate degree GPA of 3.0-3.49).
- Display strong research capabilities through a writing sample.
- Submit two or more letters of recommendation.
- Submit a Graduate Application for Admission.
- Request an official transcript from the institution that granted the graduate degree. (In some cases, official transcripts of undergraduate coursework may be required.) Note: If the graduate degree program is incomplete when the application is filed, a transcript of work to that date must be submitted, and after graduation, a final official transcript must be furnished indicating the degree received.
- Submit official transcript(s) of any other previously completed graduate coursework.
