World & Local Missions
At Truett McConnell University, we equip students to serve boldly through the Great Commission. As followers of Christ, we are called to teach the truth of Scripture from the very first verse, Genesis 1:1, until the Gospel reaches the very last tribe, Matthew 28:18-29. Our mission trips give students the opportunity to live out this calling through life-changing experiences that combine hands-on ministry, cross-cultural outreach, and gospel-centered service.
Local Missions
Helen Outreach – Trail Ministries – Local Service Projects
Live out the Great Commission and share the Gospel right here in North Georgia! Evangelize to tourists and locals in downtown Helen, share the love of Christ on local hiking trails, or be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving those in need. Upcoming Trips
Argentina
Sept. 30 – Oct. 7 | Trip Leader: Dr. Chavez
Are you interested in using your gifts to share the Gospel in another culture while serving alongside a vibrant ministry? For over 50 years, Word of Life Argentina has been reaching young people with the message of Christ through camps, evangelism, and partnerships with local churches. This trip will give you the opportunity to be part of what God is doing there.
What you can expect during the trip:
- Partnering with Local Churches
You will work alongside Argentine churches that are actively reaching their communities. Our goal is to support and strengthen the work they are already doing as they share the Gospel. - Street Evangelism
A major focus of the week will be open-air evangelism. Teams will go into public spaces to share the Gospel, interact with people, and invite them to connect with local churches. - School Outreach – “Go Play Plus”
You will help lead interactive school programs where we gather students for games, team-building activities, and bilingual interaction. These events create natural opportunities to clearly present the Gospel to young people. - Cross-Cultural Ministry Experience
This trip offers a unique opportunity to experience ministry in a different cultural context, learn from local believers, and grow in your confidence in sharing your faith.

Nicaragua – School of Business
Dec. 12 – Dec. 19 | Trip Leader: Dr. Maiocco
In partnership with Chosen Children Ministries in Nicaragua, the TMU team will be serving in a local neighborhood outside of Managua, Nicaragua.
What you can expect during the trip:
- Evangelism
Each day groups walk around the neighborhood with translators and local church members to pray with families, share the gospel, and encourage others. - House Construction
The team will work with the Chosen Children’s workers and the local community to build a house for a family in need. - Community Feeding
One afternoon the team has the opportunity to provide a hot meal for the entire community, bringing new people to the church and meeting the physical needs in the area. - Vacation Bible School & Adult Bible Study
This trip offers the opportunity to lead a Vacation Bible School with the children as the parents attend a Bible Study providing the opportunity for the Gospel to reach and transform entire families.

Cost: $2,000
