Biography
Christopher Matthew Carpenter is a lecturer of New Testament at Truett McConnell University. Born and raised in Gwinnett County, he knew God placed a teaching/ministerial calling on his life and enrolled at Truett McConnell. Since 2010, he has called the Northeast Georgia region his home. Locally, he has completed two degrees from Truett-McConnell and served at Dewberry Baptist Church #1 as the youth pastor from 2015-2022.
In other scholarly endeavors, Carpenter completed his Ph.D. in Bible Exposition in January 2023. He is currently pursuing publication for his dissertation. He enjoys teaching Scripture as He appreciates seeing the impact of the Word of God on his own life as well as the students he teaches. His passion is examining the literary context and canonical cohesiveness of Scripture in addition to studying the theological concepts of the text. He also has a love for language and the history of Scripture. He has engaged in language transcription projects such as the Museum of the Bible Psalter Project as well as archaeological work in Israel.
His goal as a professor is to invest in students and do his best as an instrument God has placed in their lives to better equip them to be accurate handlers of His Word in any context He calls them to.
