Specializations & Features
At TMU, we prepare you to lead through business and faith-based principles and practices. You’ll gain a strong ethical foundation while having the opportunity to specialize in:
-
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specialization option allows students to enhance their major by completing two upper-division courses (300–400 level) in a focused area of interest within the School of Business. Specialization areas may include Applied Business, Communications, Marketing, Management and Leadership, Sports Management, and other approved disciplines.
This option is designed to provide targeted skill development and deeper knowledge in a selected field without requiring a formal minor. By completing two advanced courses in a specialization area, students gain focused expertise that strengthens their résumé, supports career preparation, and enhances readiness for leadership roles or graduate study.
Students should work with their academic advisor to select appropriate courses that align with their career goals and program requirements. Course availability and prerequisites apply.
-
The Double Bear Accelerated Degree option allows qualified undergraduate students to begin advanced study in a focused area of business while completing their bachelor’s degree. Through this pathway, eligible students may choose to enroll in up to two graduate-level courses, which may be applied toward both their undergraduate degree requirements and a future master’s program, pending admission to the graduate program and compliance with institutional policies.
The Double Bear option is designed to provide academic challenge, deepen subject-matter expertise, and accelerate progress toward graduate study. Students must meet established GPA and eligibility requirements and receive approval from their academic advisor and the School of Business prior to enrollment in graduate-level coursework.
This pathway enhances career readiness, strengthens preparation for advanced study, and allows motivated students to maximize the value of their academic experience.
-
The Applied Business minor equips you with practical, career-ready skills that complement any major. Courses in personal finance, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship provide essential knowledge for navigating today’s economic and business environment. The Nonprofit Leadership & Service Digital Badge is designed for students who are passionate about serving others and leading within mission-driven organizations. This program provides opportunities to develop practical skills in nonprofit management, leadership, and community engagement through experiential learning beyond the classroom. Through activities such as mission trips, service projects, nonprofit analysis, and business plan development, you will gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how to effectively lead and serve in nonprofit and ministry contexts.
A digital badge provides a verified, visible credential that demonstrates specific skills and experiences beyond a traditional degree. It allows you to showcase applied competencies on platforms like LinkedIn, making your abilities more transparent to employers. Digital badges are especially valuable because they highlight hands-on experience, initiative, and specialized training, helping you stand out in a competitive job market and signaling readiness for real-world application.
