Dr. Joo Won Jun

Biography

Soprano Joo Won Jun, a native of South Korea, studied voice at Ewha Womans University and earned Bachelor of Music degree and Master of Music degree. She started her doctoral study at the School of Music at Louisiana State University and received the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts. She has performed around the US and South Korea. She has had her own solo recitals and ensembles with numerous orchestras. She has also appeared as the main roles of the operas such as La Boheme, Cosi Fan Tutte, Hansel and Gretel, Carmen, L’elisir d’Amore, Don Giovanni, etc. Prior to joining TMU in 2016, she taught for 10 years at Ewha Womans University, Myoungii University and University of Suwon, where she taught voice and opera literature. She also serves as a soloist at Sugarloaf Korean Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA.
