Program Overview

The Secondary Education – History (Grades 6–12) program at Truett McConnell University prepares candidates to teach history and social studies with both depth of content knowledge and effective instructional practice. Students engage in rigorous coursework in history alongside education classes that emphasize lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management for adolescent learners. Extensive field experiences allow candidates to apply their learning in real secondary classrooms, building confidence and practical skills.
