New Endowed Scholarship Invests in Business Students at Truett McConnell University

CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell University has produced many successful business leaders grounded in their faith and committed to living out the Great Commission. Thanks to a new investment by university supporters Jason and Martha Crane, students will have access to a biblically centered education for generations to come.
The university has received a gift establishing the Clyde W. Turner, Sr. Endowed Scholarship, which will provide financial assistance to business students throughout their journey at Truett McConnell University.
The Crane family’s connection to TMU spans generations. The scholarship honors Jason’s grandfather, Clyde W. Turner, Sr., who attended classes at the university’s original campus on Cleveland’s town square. Many members of the Turner family have attended and graduated from Truett McConnell University, including Jason’s mother Betty (Turner) Crane, while others served the university as employees, helping advance the mission of preparing students to impact the world for Christ.
For Jason and Martha Crane, establishing this scholarship is both a tribute to their family’s legacy and an opportunity to faithfully steward the blessings God has entrusted to them. They have seen Truett McConnell University equip students with a strong foundation rooted in the Great Commission and believe that supporting business students is an investment in future Christian leaders who will carry their faith into the workplace.
The Crane family also believes deeply in the value of higher education and follows the philosophy of “always striving to improve oneself.” As a businessman himself and with a grandfather who succeeded in the business trade, Jason felt called to invest specifically in students pursuing business careers.
“We are proud to do our part to further Kingdom-oriented education at Truett, and in so doing honor the legacies of so many of our forebears who’ve walked the university’s halls in the past,” Crane said. “It is our hope that the funds generated by this scholarship will in some small way assist future business students on their journeys to achieving great things!”
Established as a lasting tribute to Clyde W. Turner, Sr., this scholarship will create opportunities for future business students while carrying forward a family legacy of faith, stewardship, and service at Truett McConnell University.
Those who wish to honor the legacy of Clyde W. Turner, Sr. or invest in the education of future TMU business students are encouraged to contribute to the scholarship by visiting tmu.edu/give.
