Biography

Kristin has been in public education for 30 years with positions ranging from math teacher to math department chair to Instructional Technology Coach. She started her career in 1997 in Madison, Alabama before moving to Gwinnett County, where she has served students for 28 years. She started teaching math in Gwinnett County at Collins Hill High School before leaving to open Gwinnett Online Campus. Here, she served as a math teacher for two years and then math department chair for an additional two years. She then made the transition to Instructional Technology and Innovation Coach. This has allowed her to find her passion combining problem solving, education and technology. She has served on D2L’s Fusion Steering Committee for the last 4 years and is extremely interested in making online education successful for all students and instructors.

Kristin is married to David and they have 3 sons and 1 granddaughter. James is 25, Hunter is 18 and Logan is 16. Her outside hobbies include traveling, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, and watching baseball- both her sons and the Atlanta Braves. She has three favorite travel adventures: the year she lived in New Zealand, a 54 day RV trip out west in 2014 and a 57 day RV trip in 2017. These two RV trips covered a total of 23,000 miles by car and 320 miles through hiking.
